Infusion is an advanced technique utilized at the Complete Brain Center for treating a wide range of neurological conditions in the brain. Infusion enables the doctor to place a specific medicine in liquid form directly into a specific area of the brain to accurately target where it is needed most. Depending on the disorder being treated, the liquid infused might be a compound, protein, chemical, or drug. For example, one type of chemical is infused into an area the brain to help control seizures in patients with epilepsy. Other types of compounds are infused into the brain near a tumor to reduce its size. Still other drugs are infused for treating neurodegenerative problems such as Parkinson’s disease.
The type of chemicals selected to be infused, the frequency of the treatments, and the location of the brain to be targeted will depend entirely on the patient’s specific need. Doctors often choose to implant a tiny pump that releases an exact dose of the medicine needed at the precise frequency to the location being targeted.
With some patients, infusion will be used in conjunction with other treatments such as surgery or chemotherapy; but with other patients, infusion might be the only treatment necessary.
Internal Medicine is the term covering the medical field focused on preventing, diagnosing, and treating adult diseases. A physician specializing in Internal Medicine is often called an “internist.”
Here at the Complete Brain Center, we have many Doctors of Internal Medicine who are focused on diagnosing and treating a wide range of neurological conditions. Rest assured that each of our doctors has years of experience in education and treatment.
When a diagnosis reveals the need for even more specialized treatment or surgery, your internist may choose to bring in other doctors who specialize further in your particular area of need. This enables us to offer you the most advanced level of care for your individual condition for the best possible results.
The Complete Brain Center utilizes a wide range of noninvasive brain imaging services to accurately diagnose a patient’s condition and pinpoint the exact location of the problem. Our trained specialists have several options available onsite to help guide their decision making to produce an accurate diagnosis for every patient and save the patient the time and trouble of driving elsewhere for their imaging tests.
Depending on each patient’s condition, your doctor might utilize one or more neuroimaging services. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan is a common procedure used around the world. An MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues within the body. MRI scans are a non-invasive and painless procedure.
A key part of the diagnosis and treatment every patient receives at the Complete Brain Center is state-of-the-art laboratory testing. Accurate testing enables us to offer customized treatments to meet the individual needs of our patients. We’ve partnered with several of the highest quality labs to provide these tests at an affordable price. Some of the labs we work with include:

An electroencephalogram, or EEG, is a highly specialized test that can detect any form of electrical activity in your brain using flat, small metal discs (electrodes) that are attached to your scalp. These electrodes cause your brain cells to communicate through the electrical impulses and are active the entire time, even when you’re sleeping. This activity shows up as wavy lines on the EEG recording equipment.
The EEG plays a role in diagnosing multiple brain disorders, but specializes in diagnosing epilepsy. An EEG may be helpful for diagnosing and/or treating the following disorders:
- Epilepsy or other seizure disorders
- Brain tumor
- Head injury
- Brain dysfunction
- Inflammation of the brain (encephalitis)
- Sleep disorders
